Here at Salt Spray Surf School we are all about getting youth into the surf while also teaching them a few things about our beautiful ocean along the way.
Our School Education Programme offers:
Comprehensive Learn to Surf lesson on land
Ocean Awareness Talk, learn how to stay safe in the ocean at all times.
Conservation, learn about protecting and conserving the ocean and beach environment
Surfing! A guaranteed hour + of actual surfing with qualified instructors in the water.
Our Instructor to Student ratio is legally 1:8 but we follow school regulation and make sure the ratio is 1 adult to 4 students in the water, whether that be qualified instructors or parent/teacher help. If a group is over 20 students then the class will be split in half and half the group will surf with instructors while the other half either swims or is on the beach (under teachers responsibility).
High Schools: Salt Spray Surf School proudly offers level two and level three performance credits for surfing! It is a NZQA approved Achievement Standard! Inquire for more info.

We open for business from September until April!
This means that you can book a surf programme with Salt Spray on any dates from the end of Term 3 2025 until the end of Term 1 2026.
